Swiss Peak Technologies SA is co-founder of GMAC. GMAC is a group of independent medtech business angels that invests in promising early-stage medtech ventures sharing a few fundamental principles. It is made up of medical device executives combining years of achievements with leading medical device firms including Medtronic, Edwards Lifesciences and others. GMAC members combine a range of medtech venture assessment skills, including on product development; go-to-market strategies; regulatory affairs; IP assessments; contracting practices; compliance. GMAC members take a hands-on investment approach, drawing from their broad medtech industry insight to help the leadership team take the venture to its next success stage. GMAC investments are cash-only or cash-and-sweat equity.  Unlike some other investors, GMAC accepts to be treated no differently from existing shareholders.

Sylvain Poitras

Sylvain Poitras is a medtech lawyer with some 20 years in the industry, including with Medtronic and Cardinal Health.  He held executive roles leading the European legal function for medical device product lines generating hundreds of millions EUR.  In 2013, Sylvain founded Swiss Peak Technologies SA, a boutique advisory firm dedicated to medtech and helping firms reach their full potential.  Sylvain advises and implements actions in the legal and compliance spaces, balancing business development needs and risk management.  He has worked on products in a variety of different medtech spaces including cardiac, orthopedics, neurology, ventilation, infusion and urology.  Sylvain is an attorney-at-law member of the New York and Quebec bars, holds a MPH degree from Harvard and has been teaching European medtech law & compliance at two Swiss universities since 2010.

Laurent Duhoux

Laurent Duhoux has been a passionate insider of the medical device industry for some 25 years, including in executive (VP) sales & marketing roles with Gambro/Baxter and Edwards Lifesciences.  An entrepreneur, Laurent has a track-record of transforming medtech ideas into products/concept.  This brought him to develop from scratch an extremely successful business segment generating hundreds of millions of EUR in annual sales.  His experience extends to medical devices in the intensive care, anesthesiology, nephrology, cardiac hemodynamic, neuromuscular and rare diseases spaces.  In addition, Laurent has lead projects in R&D, regulatory, manufacturing and medical affairs and been closely involved in several medtech start-up development projects.  Laurent has a background in biomedical engineering and holds an executive MBA from EM Lyon business school.
